Kerala Piravi is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Kerala as an independent state in the republic of India on 1st November 1956. The 67th Kerala piravi day was celebrated at Progressive English School by the department of Malayalam. The day began with a special assembly conducted by class X D which paved the way to remember and honor our mother tongue and mother land. Principal Ms.Suchithra R conveyed her wishes on the occasion and released the class magazines with the theme 'Kerala '. There was a cultural fiesta by the students with variety of programs like poem recitation, folk song and group song. Head teacher, Mr. Babu addressed the students highlighting the cultural heritage, tradition and diversity that the state of Kerala has ever been upholding. A wide range of competitions like poster designing, drawing competitions, crafting decorative items from coconut leaves, speech competitions, quiz competitions were held in the school premises. An antique exhibition was conducted to showcase our past to the new generation. The inauguration of the exhibition was graced by Mr. Musthafa Ibrahim, the secretary of Wadihuda Group of Institutions. The exhibition carried within them so much nostalgia and craftsmanship. Undoubtedly the celebrations brought memories of rich culture and vast heritage of Kerala to budding minds. It was indeed a visual treat for the audience and participants.
