Small islands and Climatic Change- Raise your voice, not sea level

Students of Progressive English School celebrated the World Environment Day, beginning with an awareness seminar, taken by Mr.VC Balakrishnan,a noted environmentalist, Secretary of EVS Education,Kerala.

Mr.Balakrishnan spoke on the importance of preserving our biodiversity, the need to identify problems related to the environment and ways to take corrective action. He also implied to students, the environmental challenges that include climate change, global warming, disasters and conflicts, harmful substances, environmental governance, ecosystem management and resource efficiency.

Followed by the Seminar, the chief guest planted a sapling as part of the campaign in Madayipara.

The Awareness campaign was inaugurated by Mr.Hamzah Abbas, Chairman-Wadihuda Group of Institutions, Payangadi. Mr.Sajid, Principal presided the function. Mrs.Sujithra, Vice principal fecilitated the program. Mrs.Shakeeba jabbar gave the vote of thanks. Also Mr.Azeez, Mrs.Roopa, Mrs.Sathi actively participated in organizing the program.
