World Environment day was celebrated in Progressive English School by the Science Department on 5th June, 2023. The program began at 11 am in the school auditorium with a prayer song by the school choir. The Principal and vice principal, along with all the faculty members and students, participated in the program. The aim behind organizing this program was to raise awareness among the students about keeping the environment clean and safe from pollution and to reduce the use of plastic. Ms. Sheeba N., HOD of the Science Department, welcomed the gathering. Ms. Sujitra R., The principal, delivered the presidential address. Chairman Mr. V.K Hamsa Abbas inaugurated the program by planting saplings. Ms. K Maimoonath , The Naturalist Award Winner of Manchottil Seed, was the Chief Guest of the program.By sharing her experience, she explained how important it is for the future generation to take care of the environment and conserve it. She also inaugurated the Science Club of 2023–2024. A special message was given by Vice Principal Mr. Sabir V K by highlighting alarming facts about the changes that might happen in the future due to the degradation of the environment.
